Join Me on a Journey

Journey across the northern Hemisphere

ANcestors, through the years.

Welcome to the Journey blog hop around the UK, Canada and the United States. We are a group of ladies who met through an online business course and other creative courses.

We have chosen Journey as the theme for this blog hop. It’s a word that can be interpreted spiritually, physically, literally and creatively and we hope you will enjoy your journey as you hop around our blogs.

Here’s your itinerary:

Who knows what you may find as you travel across the northern hemisphere today!

grandchildren, genealogy, generations

Today I am starting a Journey….

It is a journey to connect my grandchildren to my grandparents. It is a journey to remember everything I ever knew about my grandparents and scrapbook them in a way that will make them real to my grandchildren. This is my attempt to give them roots. To introduce them to the strong pioneering people who came to Canada to forge a better life. I will journey first through my memories and create a journal of my grandparents and aunts and uncles to attempt to tell the story of their struggles and victories. I will hopefully remember the stories I have been told and the experiences I have had with these wonderful people. I will then seek out others who have information to help me. There are some in our family who have done much in the genealogy areas. Finally I will put together scrapbook pages to create an album and duplicate it for my grandchildren.

This journey will cover many years and many miles. It is not begun without some trepidation and fear because I am not a writer. Will I complete this task or will I fall short? I do not know but I know that I am determined to try. I think I am up to the task but I will call on my Lord at each step and at each turn. I will ask Him to give me strength and remind me of the particular events He wants my grandchildren to know about. I believe this is so important to my loved ones. It will show them the strong deep roots that under gird their lives. In turn, I hope they will carry these ancestors and their stories to their own children and grandchildren

I would like to hear what you have to say about this journey. Would you like to join me? I will be taking this trip in very small steps which I will post for you every Friday. Please comment and let me know what you think. If you leave a comment before Sunday August 5th at 12 midnight EST, you will be entered into a draw to win papers and cardstock stickers from the Vintage Shop by My Little Shoebox.

If you are here on the blog hop, your next stop is Nana

Where is Spring?

Where is Spring!

They say Spring is just around the corner, but here in Ottawa, I think it must be a big corner. Although the days have been sunny and bright lately, they have been very cold. My paper crafting seems to be full of pretty colours today as I seek to add a little colour to my life. I long for the green buds and the pink apple blossoms. I long for that late evening sound of the robins singing to the setting sun. Oh Spring were are you?

The first sign of spring around here is always the arrival of our first box from the winter Craft and Hobby show. They started to arrive on Wednesday.

My Little Shoebox; will help you celebrate spring with cute little bird houses in Home Tweet Home, the cherry blossoms of Oasis, and the pretty flowers of Garden Party. Each line has 5 double sided coordinating papers adn a cardstock sticker sheet to accent with.

You will also enjoy the new offerings from Buttons Galore and More: Haberdashery button box collections to brighten up any layout or card and more 2 new collections of buttons with matching ribbons to add to the 7 that we already have. I especially love Bee Happy.

Craft and Hobby Conference

I had a good time at the show. There was so much to see. The show was quieter than usual but for me that made it easier to get done what I needed to.

I love the new lines from SEI and purchased the assortment packs for all of them. I also ordered the whole line of one that will be great for all our country fairs in Ontario. We will be featuring sei in our classes and make and takes at Croptopia IAWAH this spring.

I also ordered the whole line of My Little Shoebox. They wonderfully creative designs have been a hit the last two seasons and this year’s offering will be even more popular.

Have you seen the new stitching tool from We R Memories? I will be demonstrating at all the events I attend this spring. Watch for me.

As I get the images, I will be posting them here and on our store website.
