It is so hard to understand God when things happen that I don’t expect. When twice this year, a great person has died, while so many bad people all over the world live on.

When an older person dies you look at all they have done and say ” they accomplished much for the Lord, they raised good children, who are also raising good children and they have touched many who will continue the work.

But when a young person dies who, albeit has already touched many for the Lord, but had so many dreams left unfinished, who had young children and a young wife who needed him. Then I get confused. So many people have been touched by this tragic accident. Lord bless them all. Send your comforting Holy Spirit to hold them close and Jesus they need you to carry them now.

Where is Spring?

Where is Spring!

They say Spring is just around the corner, but here in Ottawa, I think it must be a big corner. Although the days have been sunny and bright lately, they have been very cold. My paper crafting seems to be full of pretty colours today as I seek to add a little colour to my life. I long for the green buds and the pink apple blossoms. I long for that late evening sound of the robins singing to the setting sun. Oh Spring were are you?

The first sign of spring around here is always the arrival of our first box from the winter Craft and Hobby show. They started to arrive on Wednesday.

My Little Shoebox; will help you celebrate spring with cute little bird houses in Home Tweet Home, the cherry blossoms of Oasis, and the pretty flowers of Garden Party. Each line has 5 double sided coordinating papers adn a cardstock sticker sheet to accent with.

You will also enjoy the new offerings from Buttons Galore and More: Haberdashery button box collections to brighten up any layout or card and more 2 new collections of buttons with matching ribbons to add to the 7 that we already have. I especially love Bee Happy.

I was in the warehouse talking to the warehouse manager yesterday and he told me that I ordered too much new product at CHA. He has no more room. He says I have to get rid of all the 2010 products, even the items that are only a few months old, so that there will be room for all the new products that will be coming over the next 4 weeks.

What am I to do? He said I must mark everything down and have a big sale. OK. Sounds like fun to me.

So here we go ………Announcing…….

Friday Feb 11 and Saturday Feb 12…Everything on our website is marked down 40%. You heard me rightly. No coupon needed. Discount good on all items. As soon as you put an item in your shopping cart, you will see the marked down price.

This includes everything on the website, in stock items only. It is a great time to stock up on all your papercrafting needs; sei assortments, tools, idea books, Pebbles show and tell albums, Cosmo Cricket kits, board books, embellishments, adhesives, etc. ( does not include special order items)

For these two days only, you will pay exact shipping costs for all orders.

Some items may sell out quickly. After I receive your order, I will send you a final invoice with your shipping included. You can then pay by cheque, money order, email transfer or paypal. Items will be shipped when payments have cleared.

Orders can also be picked up in Ottawa or Petawawa by requesting such in the comment section. You can pay COD on these items.

Happy shopping. What a great way to spend a snowy day.

Craft and Hobby Conference

I had a good time at the show. There was so much to see. The show was quieter than usual but for me that made it easier to get done what I needed to.

I love the new lines from SEI and purchased the assortment packs for all of them. I also ordered the whole line of one that will be great for all our country fairs in Ontario. We will be featuring sei in our classes and make and takes at Croptopia IAWAH this spring.

I also ordered the whole line of My Little Shoebox. They wonderfully creative designs have been a hit the last two seasons and this year’s offering will be even more popular.

Have you seen the new stitching tool from We R Memories? I will be demonstrating at all the events I attend this spring. Watch for me.

As I get the images, I will be posting them here and on our store website.

Good Intentions

I had such good intentions when we started out on our holiday. I was going to post everyday. Things just don’t always work out. We realized on the ship that it would be just too expensive, as we were paying by the minute and the connection was slow. I also found that I was far too busy.
We had a wonderful time on the cruise. There was lots to do on the ship and we had some really interesting ports of call. On board we played team trivia every day. It was fun to try and guess at the answers that we didn’t know. I particularly liked the name that tune and show trivia because they held it in the 2 for 1 Martini bar. I discovered chocolate martinis. Yum.
We were on the Norweigen Star and the food was great. We ate dinner in the main dining room most evenings but sometimes we just went to the cafeteria area and the food there was just as good and different every day. I liked that if I wanted dessert, there was always on available that was made without sugar.
We went ashore at each port. At several we took a shore excursion. In Cabo San Lucas we drove dune buggies across town and out into the dessert. It was amazing fun for someone who is not so young anymore.
In each place we went there were markets with vibrant coloured hand crafted items. I wanted to bring it all home but had to keep thinking about the room in my suitcase. I settled for some small musical instruments for the grandchildren to play with when they visit Granny.
